Our client, a government entity in Canada, needs the services of an IT Project Manager possessing the following qualifications and experience:
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 is Required.
- Demonstrated experience as a practicing Project Manager overseeing diverse and complex technical projects within an IT environment.
- Proven experience working with a government entity in Canada.
- Strong interpersonal skills evidenced by collaboration with all organizational levels and a comprehensive understanding of business priorities. This includes expertise in establishing and leading projects through Canada’s governance framework.
- Demonstrated experience managing at least two large projects involving cloud integrations (each with a minimum budget of $500,000).
- Successful management of team resources, systems development, estimation of effort and costs, and planning and scheduling project activities.
- Expertise in creating and managing various project management documents, such as project plans, schedules, budgets, change orders, and status reports.
- While not mandatory, possessing Agile or Scrum Master certification is considered an asset.
- While not mandatory, possession of ITIL certification is considered an asset.
- While not mandatory, certification as an organizational change management practitioner is considered an asset.
The selected candidate will assume a pivotal role within the Project Management Team, encompassing responsibilities such as:
- Collaborating with the Project Leadership Team to formulate the terms of the Detailed Project Plan.
- Creating and finalizing the Project Plan, securing approval from the Project Sponsor.
- Ensuring adherence to Project Management Institute (“PMI”) standards, including processes and documentation.
- Delivering project outcomes promptly, within budget, and in accordance with specified requirements, ensuring the achievement of project objectives.
- Verifying that work products and deliverables align with technical standards.
- Facilitating the integration of project touch points across related projects when necessary.
- Monitoring and reporting on project performance, covering scope, schedule, cost, and the quality of project deliverables.
- Identifying, monitoring, and managing risks associated with project delivery.
- Promptly communicating and reporting on project risks, issues, and concerns to the team, Project Sponsors, and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinating and leading multi-stakeholder workshops and meetings and preparing presentations.
- Collaborating effectively with third-party vendors and other partners, incorporating their contributions into the overall implementation plan.
- Developing project change requests, encompassing scope, time, and cost, and negotiating financial implications or impact with the Project Sponsor.
- Identifying changes to resourcing requirements.
