Our client, a government entity in Saskatchewan, Canada, needs the services of a Project manager with experience and expertise in large scale data conversion and migration project possessing the following qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of proven project management experience in the role of a Project Manager managing large-scale data conversion and migration projects.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of proven experience managing cross functional project teams.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of proven vendor management experience.
- Excellent written skills and employ a disciplined approach to managing project records.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, management, and communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Proven project and resource planning capabilities.
- Proven ability to analyze complex problems and find innovative solutions.
- Proven knowledge of data conversions and migration processes, tools and methodologies.
- Proven knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing predictive, agile, and hybrid projects.
- Project management education and/or certifications (PMP).
- Proficiency with project management software.
- Familiarity with data structures, data mapping, ETL processes and cloud platforms would be considered an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Has overall project performance responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and
deliverables which include applying techniques for planning, monitoring, and reporting,
change control, risk and issue management of a large-scale data conversion and
migration project.
- Works closely with the project team members to collaborate and ensure alignment in
project goals and successful delivery of the project.
- Assigns clear roles and responsibilities and provides effective oversight of the data conversion and migration deliverables and tasks.
- Accountable for the management and working effectively with external vendors partners in their delivery of solutions and services.
- Ensure projects deliver specified outcomes and meet quality expectations.
- Creates and manages the overall project budget.
- Regularly updates stakeholders with reports on the progress and performance of projects. Reports and escalates as needed through the appropriate channels.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risk to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Create and manage comprehensive project documentation.
- Follow all standards, practices, and processes related to projects and ensure compliance
